Lancôme - Rénergie Multi-Lift Reviva-Plasma™

It is safe to say I am slightly obsessed with anti ageing. I can't get enough of the stuff!

My skin isn't great and I do see a lot of sings of ageing from simple fine lines to skin that is loosing that fresh youthful look, in short my skin needs some much needed TLC.

I didn't know what to expect from  Lancôme  - Rénergie Multi-Lift Reviva-Plasma™b*. I don't really trust anti ageing products - they are uber expensive, results are either really poor or none existent yet with those two points of view I kept my narrow mined views to one side.

I can say there has been a change in skincare over the past few years, it has become more intelligent and results are apparently getting better and lasting longer. The though thing with skin care is that you could be spending 100's or even 1000's per year on lotions and potions that you will never see the results as its all based on preventing or at least helping us to age gracefully - but we want to see results now not in 30 years when we look back on old photos.

Lancome say: Skin looks instantly smoother. From 1 week, the skin is replenished with moisture and feels reinforced. Day after day, it appears younger and more beautiful, as if full of life. Skin looks revived and refreshed, it appears restored. Suitable for skin exposed to daily aggressions. Apply this serum in the morning and evening under your daily skincare.”

For me this is one product that works amazingly fast and yes you do see results quickly. The serum is rather thick but I like this. My skin feels amazing after this and fantastically pampered. Lines on my forehead seemed to plump up which as a result makes my makeup look better. I even found my self leaving the house without my face on - for anyone who knows me this is a big deal for the women who couldn't go to the bin without a full face. It's as if my confidence in my skin has returned as it looks fantastic and radiant there is no need for makeup!

It has even managed to reduce the size of my pores which is a huge thing! Creating an even smother base for makeup and younger skin.

I pop this on in the mornings after I cleanse to my face, neck and décolletage (if i remember that part). You will find that your skin feels fantastically nourished and is in short that little bit of extra TLC that skin needs. A fantastic serum to be added into any ones skincare routine.

I would however like to stress that the results or only temporary I have found that missing a few days can bring skin back to how it was pre Lancôme  - Rénergie Multi-Lift Reviva-Plasma™ however it is fantastic and even at the €129 for 50ml it can be justify with the amazing results but I would only purchase this on a rich day.

What anti ageing products do you use? Have you used this before? What do you think of it? Do you think you will give this a go?

Emjoi Micro Pedi Review

Eww feet.....I hate HATE HATE feet, mine in particular, to such an extent I don't wear sandals and if I stay over at a friends house I will sleep in my socks!

Last year when I first heard about this amazing product that removes the hard skin from your feet I could not believe my ears, without reading any reviews on the gadget I knew I just had to have it. See one of the problems I have is hard skin, I think most of use shoe obsessed girls do.

RRP €49.95

Over a year ago when I saw the Emjoi Micro Pedi on offer in boots I just had to have it! I couldn't wait to get home and try it out! The results are amazing! You will be shocked, silky smooth feet in a matter of minutes.

The drawbacks I have are not with how effective the tool is but more the battery. I really wish it was rechargeable, I hate having to buy batteries and I find most rechargeable batteries to be a bit of pain.

With that aside I can not recommend this fantasist gadget enough! My confidence in my feet has increased almost to the point of actually considering to buy a pair of sandals. Over a year of using Emjoi Micro Pedi my feet care routine has become a breeze and is now super easy to maintain amazing feet.

I saw when I was picking up refiles (they last a really long time if you clean them after each use) a pedicure set which I am dying to try out and see if its any good.

I really can't recommend the Emjoi Micro Pedi enough you will see the results immediately and you will be dying to get those perfectly pedicured feet out at any opportunity you can think of!

Have you tried Emjoi Micro Pedi before? What are your thoughts?

Dun Laoghaire: Peoples Park Market

For a part of Dublin that is just a hop skip and a Dart journey away it is an awful quite place during the week but once Friday roles around a sense of life come to this sea side town.

I love heading down to Dun Laoghaire on a Sunday to visit the market. This market may possibly be my favourite as the atmosphere is simply amazing in comparison to others. I think a lot of this comes down to how spaced out Peoples Park is giving lots of space for market dwellers and shoppers.

One of my favourite stand has to be the falafel stand, you can't go wrong with a full meal for €5! It's major yum!

What we buy is quite predictable but its so good! You really can't go wrong with some hummus, [we picked up basil hummus this time and between you and me it's fab] butter bean sun dried tomato salad, rosemary and sea salt bread and to finish off the shopping list some cheese and onion bread sticks

I received this fab statement necklace from an event I attend, it's from a brand called Second Female which is now one of my favourite brands!

What do you do on a Sunday? Do you have a favourite market to visit?

Human + Kind: All-In-One Body Oil

source: here// RRP: €14.95// Stockiest: here

Before I tell you about how I got on with using the All-In-One Body Oil I would like to apologies for using a stock photo. I had a bit of disaster with my camera a while back and the photos I had taken for this post [and others] are no more.

When using body oil or any oil at all, the applicator of the product has a lot to do with the pleasure that cane be found when apply any type of lotion or potion. One thing that really impressed me with the Human + Kind All-In-One Body Oil* was the fab applicator. I had total control over how much I wanted and never had an issue with having too much oil. I believe this is down to the hard plastic, which the container is made out of. Giving you perfect control, when you squeeze the oil out. Of course from the picture above that lil yoke [have no idea what it's called] is a great help as well.

This oil is fab! Like I said before it has a rich consistency but still can be applied smoothly and effectively onto the skin. One of my big draws to Human + Kind All-In-One Body Oil is that it contains extra vitamin E something that I am a massive fan of! Due to the extra boost of vitamins this is perfect for mom's who are expecting.

I messed around a lot with when to apply the oil finding just after a shower/bath it was effective but not as effective as I would like. I suffer from random spots of dryness on my arms so it really was put  it to the test! In the end I found applying it at night just before bed was perfect! As the oil heats up your skin its not cold on unlike other products that you would apply at that time of night. You could really see the difference the next day, my skin looked smoother and felt moisturised.

I think this oil is simply fab and everyone must have one! I imagine its quite good for babies skin for a little boost as Human + Kind strive to use 100% natural ingredients in their products. This is something I will definitely be buying!

Have you use Human + Kind before? Have you heard of the brand? What do you think of body oils?

P.S: Human + Kind is Irish!

Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Body Lotion V Body Gel Oil

I would first like to say; sorry for using stock photos. I have used both products till they where empty but they both ended up in the bin before I had a chance to take photos.

I have written about Cocoa Radiant Body Lotion in full and you can read the review here.

Pros:

Contains Cocoa Butter which helps to moisture the skin
Contains Stratys-3 which helps to moisture the deeper layer that most body lotions missies.

Cons:

The scent is far too strong and hangs around all day
Does not absorb quickly. Left my skin feeling sticky (like I was in the gym sticky...eww) all day.

Was there an improvement?

Slightly

RRP:

€4.89 200ml

Would I repurchase:

No

Cocoa Radiant Vitalizing Body Gel Oil

Pros:

Helps to lock in moisture after bathing
Scent is not as pungent as the body lotion
It does absorbe into the skin

Cons:

Its a bit runny and did leave me with far too much product to apply (suggest: change of bottle for more control of product being used)
Can be a bit messy and does not look appealing on the bathroom shelf after a while

Was there an improvement?

It took about a week but I noticed my skin was softer and look far more healthier

Would I repurchase?

Yes

RRP:

€6.99 200ml

Who wins this round?

I think its safe to say Cocoa Radiant Vitalizing Body Gel Oil is the winner this time! For me the big thing was the scent was not overpowering and of course that sticky sensation no where to be seen. It did take some time to sink in but for the price I think I can live with that.

What are your thoughts? Have you used both before? Do you agree with me?

Sally Hansen: Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil

I have never been big into nail care, only two years ago I started using a base coat before applying a fresh coat of polish (how awful I know!)

I'm still not really into it, but I do have a routine when it comes to my weekly nail make over. Sally Hansen has been featured on this blog before (here & here). Frankly the results I have seen are outstanding I have been using the Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil for almost nine months now! What attracted me to this oil is that it contains Vitamin E and helps to prevent breakage thus simply making the nail stronger.

Progress has been slow but the results are amazing, my nails have become far more stronger and my nails don't brake a easily as they used to. The only reason why I feel results are slow is because I only use Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil once a week at most.

The RRP is €6.25 and it will last you months!

What do you think of Sally Hansen? Have you used the oil before?

Roger & Gallet: Lait Des Bienfaits

The ritual of applying body lotion can sometimes be a bit of a problem, let me set the scene:

You wake up late for work, quickly run into the shower and put up with the lukewarm water. Once you have been scrubbed clean in record time. You quickly dry yourself while brushing you teeth at the same time. Once that task is complete its time for body lotion. A thought passes your mind, you could skip this step....you don't have time to feel sticky. You apply your body lotion knowing you don't have time to let your skin soak in the goodness before its time to cloth yourself. You spend the next two vital minuets tugging at your tights as they cling to your freshly moisturised skin.

It has happened to all of us, I have a big issue with how slow some brands take to soak into the skin. Body lotions should be a pleasure. Ok so it is import just like your face you want to keep it looking as young for as long as you can. Along with the current trend of bare legs you really need to have moisturised pins to pull off that look.

When I was sent Roger & Gallet Lait Des Bienfaits* I didn't know what to expect. In my mind this is a premium brand, it does retail at those high end prices and has the most visually pleasing displays in any chemist I have seen Roger & Gallet  being stocked in. However I did expect that sticky feeling that has you walking around in your underwear far more than is necessary.

Eager to try it out I was greeted by a heavenly sent that reminded me of those long forgotten summer days. In true blogger fashion I proceeded to generously apply the white lotion on to my arm. I was amazed at how smoothly and effortlessly it applied on my arm. Next this took me by a bit of shock, that god awful sticky sensation was no where to be felt! I was delighted!

So it smells great and is not sticky but what else? It contains antioxidants! If you must know anything about me, I adore products that contain antioxidants! Whats the best way to preserve your skin than with natural antioxidants? The moisture lasts for up to 24hr's which is perfect for those of us who are time poor.

You can get a good month and a half maybe two at a push, as the container is a orange tinted clear strong plastic you can see how much you have used. With each pump you can see the level go down which is slightly alarming considering the RRP.

I simply ador this product and it suits me in any which way, from its heavenly sent to the fact that it doesn't feel sticky on my skin. yet its RRP is €14.95. In saying that the ingredients are top notch and I have seen such a change in the heath of my skin from using Roger & Gallet Lait Des Bienfaits. For me this is when I have a rich day and can justify spending almost 15 quid on this amazing body lotion. Hopefully as time goes by I will be able to have this on my bed side table more often that I see it now.

You can pick up your very own Roger & Gallet Lait Des Bienfaits at selected pharmacies and at Marks & Spencer beauty haul

Have you tried this before? Would you? Do you know of any other bands that don't have that sticky sensation? Do you think you can justify that price?

Whats In My Makeup Bag: The kerry Edition

About two weeks ago I went on a bit of a train and bus trip down to the most southerly point of the county. As exciting of an adventure that might sound it's not really, having to be up at 5am to get into Huston train station and then take two trains and two buses just to reach this part of Ireland it is a bit of a challenge.

In true Irish fashion the second bus runs twice a week and runs twice on those days, both before 1pm. It was by pure chance that I was able to get it. Needles to say the bus driver was a bit stunned that I was going out to Dún Chaoin. Why was I going to this part of the county? well I have family hear and I used to live in this region.

Being up ridiculously early the ritual of applying makeup before the rest of the world sees you goes out the window. I planned to apply my face on one of the two train trips. I didn't bring much makeup wise, I kept it very simple and lightweight. The only thing that I went a bit OTT with was that I brought my NIMA Brush set along with me.

Cargo TexasLash volumizing mascara*// Bourjois healthy mix serum// Smashbox photo finish colour correcting primer: green//  Boots Soltan once a day sun cream// Bobbi Brown eyeshadow: bone// Cargo contour kit*

I found travelling with the NIMA Brushs an ease, this was simply down to the tube that holds the brushes, it is a bit on the bulky side and if I are travelling abroad I would not bring it as part of my carry on luggage.

I find the Bourjois Healthy mix serum in shade 51 too dark for my ghost like complexion so I mix it with the Soltan sun screen to match up to my true complexion.

Out of everything the Cargo Contour kit is my favourite, I am a bit fan of contouring and was really excited to see this as part of a goodie bag from an event I have attend in May. This is beyond fab to travel with as your basic face essentials are there and there is a MASSIVE sharp mirror.

So the finishing look is  very understated but I quite like it for a very simple FOTD look. Perfect for the office or of course when you are on holidays

OOTD: I can't see the camera....so what?

Apologies for the squinting looks, it was such a fab day that I really couldn't resist doing an Outfit Of The Day, when it came to taking the photos I could hardly see the camera as the sun was so strong, ah well what can ya do?

Top: ASOS//Trousers: H&M//Lace crop top: Urban Outfitters//Pendent: unknown//Shoes: Blowfish

Earlier that day I had an interview but since it was so hot I needed to change into a loose top. What better top to change into than my beloved sheer top with darling lace detailing. Perfect for a hot summers day. I adore these H&M trousers which I had only picket up on monday (03.06.13), they are perfect for a smart look but also for that causal feel that we crave around this time of year. I adore how they fit and I get a strong mad men vibe off them, not bad for €19.95 eh?

The pendent was a gift from my mother who simply adores bright and bold colours, to receive something toned down from her as a gift was quite a change. She did however balance it out with the simple fact that this is a fly! How unusual? I adore how it catches the light as a result transform any all black ensemble  the dark sliver chain give this pendant an understated quality which makes it all the more fabulous.

If you follow me on twitter or on youtube you will be familiar with these, I am not the biggest fan of blowfish but the style and the metal toe caught my eye. I had read reviews that those who are of a standard size could not wear these due to the tapered toe and that a smaller size was too big. I however being a 7.5 in a UK shoe was able to get away with a size 7 UK. The do loosen up as is expect with the nature of a suede shoe and are now a comfortable fit. I actually think these are the most comfortable pair of flats I have ever owned! They still need to be broken in a bit more but so far they are a pleasure .

Boots Haul

I have a love hate relationship with boots, I love that all my makeup and toiletries needs are in one place I hate that I can't control my spending habits.

Collection 2000 2in1 €4.75, Rimmel Match Perfection €9.95, 17 Double Gloss Top Coat €5,59, Carmex Moisture Plus €5.98

This Haul actually conceited of two trips one trip was out of necessity the latter was out of want. Usually I try and shop like a man when it comes to boots (ya know that whole bee line thing, pay and get out as fast as you can). On the first round I did a fatal thing, my beauty blogger instincts took over and I deiced to check out what was new among the 'Drug Store" brands, bad move. The next day I popped back in to my local boots and completed the haul.

At the blogger meet up I attend on Saturday (01.06.13) I got on the topic of nails with Lil. She told me about the top coat she used, which protected her amazing nail art from chipping the whole time! I simply had to pick up some 17 Double Gloss Top Coat to try it out for myself! The Collection 2000 2 in1 Strengthener & Hardener was a bit of an impulse buy and I am also running out of my current base.

Rimmel Match Perfection foundation was a impulse buy, what caught my eye was, that there was a shade light enough to suit my porcelain complexion. I have to say I was truly delighted, it is next to impossible for me to find a 'drug store' makeup brand that actually caters for my skin tone I chose shade Light Porcelain 010. The price is what won me over and I am so excited to try this out!

Carmex Moisture Plus was without a doubt a necessity, I had burnt my lips earlier in the week and needed something that would heal them and protect them from the sun. The stylish and compact packaging caught my eye perfect for a bit of a pick me up when you're on the go. I simply adore using it so far and have felt the benefits.

Have you recently picke up anything in boots? Have you used anything in the haul? How did you get on with it?

The Wonders of Tropical Popical Nail Bar Dublin

I am ashamed to say that I had never ever stepped into Tropical Popical till Thursday evening (30.05.13). I had heard such wonders about this nail bar with a twist, had every intention of getting my claws pampered but failed to. When the invitation appeared in my mail box I couldn't wait to attend.

I adore the fresh vibe and friendly manner of the staff. I find many salons intimidating which puts me off treating myself to a mani. Here this is not that case, the crazy tropical twist as the name suggests made me feel at ease and the staff are simply fab. Of course we where greeted with their trademark of lilt in a coconut which I find simply darling.

One thing that I am terrible at is making small talk to anyone, it just doesn't come naturally. I usually feel awkward but here this was not the case. The prices of this hip and trendy bar as extremely reasonable and most definitely competitive. Just check out the screen grab from their site bellow.

To celebrate the launch of the Silver Factory collaboration with Tropical Popical we where treated to mains with the theme of the nail bars logo which is also featured on the tees. As you can see they are amazing at nail art (obvs) the art itself was done in free hand clearly demonstrating how talented they are.

Tropical Popical is clearly the number one up and coming nail bar in Dublin to find out more just follow this link tropicalpopical.com
