This week I am putting Insta-Dri to the test. I have use it on one hand (left) and I did not apply a top coat to the other hand (right). You can track exactly how Insta-Dri healed up. Insta-Dri is a top coat that dries your nails quicker it also is an anti-chip top coat that the same time. I have seen a lot of posts out there giving this product a hard time so I have pictures of 8 days so you can make your own mind up about the product.
DAY ONE After taking the picture below and me thinking that my nails where fully dry I hopped in the shower and came out whit my right hand full of imprints. Which you can kinda see in the flowing pictures.
I forgot to take a picture of my nails on the second day.
DAY THREE
DAY FOUR
DAY FIVE
DAY SIX
DAY SEVEN
DAY EIGHT
OVERALL
First thing I noticed is that it dose dry a lot quicker but also it gives your nails a lovely shine, so thumbs up there. It dose slow down the chipping process, I don't think there is any product out there that will completely stop your nail varnish from chipping unless you don't use your hands! One thing that must be remembered about Insta-Dri that I think people forget is that it primarily is a product that is designed to dry wet nails faster not an anti chip.
The colour I used on my nails was Barry M: Emerald Green. Listing to Grimes while writing this post
This is my first ever haul, I have wanted to do one for quite a while but I always buy loads in one go so I feel like people may think that I have loads of money to spend. I do not as I am a broke student but I do save and I always go on mad shopping sprees so this is just from one of my most recent outings.
I have split this post into two. The first half is make up and a few bits and bobs and the other is on You Tube which is linked at the very end of this post.
The first thing I got what this plate form Ingot. These are the colours I chose:
First row (L-R): 346, 441, 439, 377, 494
Second row (L-R); 467, 15 ,51, 366, 382
I haven't used the second row at all yet but I am loving it!
The second thing I got was make up brushes. I got two brushes form Mac and one from Ingot.
From mac I bought a 168 and a 187 so a couture and a stipple brush and form Inglot I bought a blending brush which is the 6SS.
I am slightly obsessed with the Kate Moss lipsticks and I already own shade 01. I am really glad I bought them because I am quite shy on the lip stick front but I want to become more daring so I am using her range to push onto more 'out there' colours. The two shades I bought where 03 and 04.
I'm not really sure what maid me want to buy this but I have wanted it for a while just to see what the story is with it. So far I can say I am glad I bought it. Only bad thing its is hard to get off but apparently (coming form someone who buys counter mascara) is that it is to be expected.
I am a huge fan of pare blanks, I love notebooks especially these ones because they are so unusual. I haven't used them yet because I still have my very boring note book for all my writing ideas. They are so pretty that I don't think I can use them just look at them lol.
I got my hair done the same day and I went from blond to brown/blond (it is actually not so straight forward to do so if you are interested in the process do let me know and I will do a quick post on it), but also because I am growing my hair as you know I thought it would be smart of me to buy this split end protector. So hopefully in three moths I should have less split ends! It also smells really pretty.
Just a quick photo of the cloths I got, and, this is the video here so enjoy!
If you have any questions about any of the items that I bought do let me know :)
Green Angel in my eyes is one of those slow up and coming brands but is most definitely up. I came across these guys over a year ago at one of those girls day out fairs in the RDS. What I like about these guys above all is that they are Irish, I think its so important to support Irish business especially with the way the economy is.
What is Green Angle all about?
"The Green Angel range consists of unique hand crafted skin care, health spa and hair care products which combine the rejuvenate benefits of “Seaweed extracts” (taken from five different seaweeds harvested from the unpolluted waters off the West coast of Ireland) with all the benefits of a variety of natural, high quality “Essential oils”."
Seaweed is one of those old beauty go to's from way back when and believe me it is so beneficial especially if you are prone to the odd brake out or suffer from acne. It's also excellent for sensitive skin because it is well natural.
Seaweed Night Cream:
The consistency is thick but not too think, and it smooths into the skin very well. It has this lovely natural scent. This cream not only has the benefit of Seaweed but it also contains those natural oils that our skin needs. So while you sleep your skin in hard at work absorbing only goodness. The next day you do see a difference, I felt that my skin was more radiant and it felt softer.
Cost: €24.95
Seaweed & Collagen Face Cream:
This cream has a lovely light constancy that you need for a day cream. It's great for people with oily skin as it doesn't increase the build up throughout the day. It has the same scent as the Night Cream. Now this has Collagen in it, and I don't know why I bought it bar my fear of laughter lines. I would like to think that the ageing process was slowed down, It pretty hard to tell but I think I did.
Cost: €24.95
Packaging: I love the packaging, I think its really classy and has that unique natural packaging that you cant help but love! It's a glass jar which can be recycled so thumbs up! and a plastic gold lid.
How long will it last?
I had my Seaweed and Collagen Face Cream for just over a year, this was on and off, but mostly on and my Seaweed Night Cream is still going strong. So you do get good value for the price you pay. You don't need to use that much as these products smooth so well.
Would I repurchase?
I think I would, I have so many other skincare cream to finish so that's my priority at the moment.
Where can I get it:
You can buy on line if you live outside of Ireland or go to one of there stockiest, the list is on there website here.
Have you come across Green Angle? Would you repurchase?
So as you can guess from the tile this is part two and I will be looking at the bushes for the eye area. This post contains my two favourite brushes that I got from E.L.F. All of these brushes are synthetic and antibacterial. All the brushes that are mentioned below are €4.00 and can be bought here. The Brushes that I will be talking about are the Small Smudge Brush, Angled Contour Brush, Small Precision Brush and Contour Brush.
Small Smudge Brush
I love this brush, it dose what its meant to do. Its really soft which is needed for a brush that will be used under your eye. What I love most about this is that it can really change how your eye make up looks and yes it dose help to create that all important smokey eye effect. I really don't know what I would do without it.
Angled Contour Brush
I have used this about twice and each time has been a disaster, I don't know if my eye area is too small for it or if the brush its self has been designed poorly. When I did use it, it seamed to go on the brow bone it really is a look that no one wants. If it was smaller in size it would be a lot more affective. In saying that I have found a new use for it, it is now used as my highlighter brush, it works really well for this.
Small Precision Brush
This brush is really great for adding that small detail where you want it and you don't run the risk of ruining your eye make up. I think its fantastic for using eye shadow as an eye liner, it creates a softer look compared to gel eye liner. I have used this for gel eye liner before I dose work to an extent but it would rather use a brush designed for applying eye liner. In saying that if you are stuck its handy as a sub. Overall the brushes I prucheaed from E.L.F I found this to be the most felexabel as I have found so many more uses for it.
Contour Brush
I quite like this one, I wouldn't say love but what I most like about it is the rounded top. I also own a Bobbie Brown contour brush and in comparison for a softer look this one is better simply because I can blend in the shadow also its smaller in size compared to the other brush so I have more control over how I apply it.
Looking at all the E.L.F brushes I purchased there where two that did not work for me. for €4.00 a pop I have to say that's pretty good going. They are very budget friendly and I would deffenity suggest these because of the price but also because they do work bar the two mentioned.
Have you tried E.L.F brushes before? how did you find them? did you try the ones I have mentioned above, did you have the same experience as myself?
I was hoping to do one post on my E.L.F Studio Brushes but it would have been too long so I'm splitting it into two. So for this post I will be focusing on the Stipple Brush, Powder Brush and Fan Brush. Before I start I would like to say that I have had these brushes for about 5 months now so I feel that I have a good sense of each of these brushes. Also across the board on the studio line brushes they all synthetic and anti bacterial bar the Retractable Lip Brush.
The Stipple Brush:
Overall I am disappointed I thought it would give an airbrushed finish, but alas it did not. Instead I was give lovely streaks all over my face and had to use my figure to blend in the foundation. So it basically doesn't do what it says on the tin. It also looks nothing like it dose in the picture on the website.
For €4.00 you can forgive them and over all they do amazing products for the price you pay.
Powder Brush:
Over all I am happy with it. I use it for contorting and it dose work. I have heard that people use it to apply liquid foundation and it works amazingly. But it is really grate for applying lose powder because it doesn't rub of any of your foundation due to its flat head, you just need to pat it on when applying. I love how soft this feel it doesn't feel harsh on my skin which is most important. I'm not blown away by it but it works and its a very good price once again €4.00.
Fan Brush:
This is the brush that I have used least out of all of my E.L.F brushes (besides one). When I have used it it dose work because its so soft it is very flexible so it can get right under the eye area to brush away and access without leaving any irritation. Once gain €4.00 not a bad price and it dose work.
Overall because they are so cheap I think they are really handy on a night out, just in case you forget to pop it back into your bag after you top up your make up and you wont mind too much if it happens all thanks to the lovely price!
Have you tried E.L.F brushes before? how did you find them? did you try the ones I have mentioned above, did you have the same experience as myself?
Hello lovelies, I was in sever need for this product, why? I have very brittle nails, I suppose that's why I took to nail varnish the way i did so people wouldn't see the state of my nails.
On the packaging it says its an Instant Nail Hardener and that it helps to strop nails from breaking, and it helps to strengthen and grow as well. I have been using this product for about 5-6 weeks maybe 4 or 5 treatments (is that the word to use?) anyway you know what I am talking about.
I decided to see how long I could grow my nails before they looked gross I was able to grow them for 3 weeks maybe a bit more and for me that is huge, the most I usually let my nails grow its about a week and a half because they become so chipped. I don't have any pictures because who wants to see freakishly long nails without any varnish on em? On one nail there was a bit of pealing but that is in no where near the way they where. You have to keep in mind that after a certain length they literally just broke off! Now my nails are so good, so much better than before I would highly recommend this as a product! It works and even though its a bit on the pricey side I would happily pay for it again, this will last you a good while. Like any product it takes time to work and after using it twice you will see a difference. This truly is the holy grail of nail repair treatments! Price: not too sure I think it was around €11 or €12 in boots. Update: correction on price, it is €13.85
