Boots Haul

I have a love hate relationship with boots, I love that all my makeup and toiletries needs are in one place I hate that I can't control my spending habits.

Collection 2000 2in1 €4.75, Rimmel Match Perfection €9.95, 17 Double Gloss Top Coat €5,59, Carmex Moisture Plus €5.98

This Haul actually conceited of two trips one trip was out of necessity the latter was out of want. Usually I try and shop like a man when it comes to boots (ya know that whole bee line thing, pay and get out as fast as you can). On the first round I did a fatal thing, my beauty blogger instincts took over and I deiced to check out what was new among the 'Drug Store" brands, bad move. The next day I popped back in to my local boots and completed the haul.

At the blogger meet up I attend on Saturday (01.06.13) I got on the topic of nails with Lil. She told me about the top coat she used, which protected her amazing nail art from chipping the whole time! I simply had to pick up some 17 Double Gloss Top Coat to try it out for myself! The Collection 2000 2 in1 Strengthener & Hardener was a bit of an impulse buy and I am also running out of my current base.

Rimmel Match Perfection foundation was a impulse buy, what caught my eye was, that there was a shade light enough to suit my porcelain complexion. I have to say I was truly delighted, it is next to impossible for me to find a 'drug store' makeup brand that actually caters for my skin tone I chose shade Light Porcelain 010. The price is what won me over and I am so excited to try this out!

Carmex Moisture Plus was without a doubt a necessity, I had burnt my lips earlier in the week and needed something that would heal them and protect them from the sun. The stylish and compact packaging caught my eye perfect for a bit of a pick me up when you're on the go. I simply adore using it so far and have felt the benefits.

Have you recently picke up anything in boots? Have you used anything in the haul? How did you get on with it?

The Wonders of Tropical Popical Nail Bar Dublin

I am ashamed to say that I had never ever stepped into Tropical Popical till Thursday evening (30.05.13). I had heard such wonders about this nail bar with a twist, had every intention of getting my claws pampered but failed to. When the invitation appeared in my mail box I couldn't wait to attend.

I adore the fresh vibe and friendly manner of the staff. I find many salons intimidating which puts me off treating myself to a mani. Here this is not that case, the crazy tropical twist as the name suggests made me feel at ease and the staff are simply fab. Of course we where greeted with their trademark of lilt in a coconut which I find simply darling.

One thing that I am terrible at is making small talk to anyone, it just doesn't come naturally. I usually feel awkward but here this was not the case. The prices of this hip and trendy bar as extremely reasonable and most definitely competitive. Just check out the screen grab from their site bellow.

To celebrate the launch of the Silver Factory collaboration with Tropical Popical we where treated to mains with the theme of the nail bars logo which is also featured on the tees. As you can see they are amazing at nail art (obvs) the art itself was done in free hand clearly demonstrating how talented they are.

Tropical Popical is clearly the number one up and coming nail bar in Dublin to find out more just follow this link tropicalpopical.com

GlamGlow: SUPERMUD™ CLEARING TREATMENT Review

Earlier in the week I spoke (well typed) about my experiences with GlamGlow YOUTHMUD TINGLEXFOLIATE TREATMENT (you can find this here). I got on amazingly and really couldn't wait to try out GlamGlow SUPERMUD™ CLEARING TREATMENT. Naturally expectations where high and I was not prepared to be disappointed.

Of course the packaging was utterly amazing, how can you not smile when you open the box and see 'Hello Sexy' staring you in the face? When I opened the jar I found some of the mask had dried around seal as you can see bellow. Other than that there where no real issues, this does however suggest that perhaps the jars are not sealed as tightly as they should be to prevent wastage of this precious wonder.

Out of the two GlamGlow products we where asked to try this has to be my favourite. There really is only one reason for this. It helps to smooth out any imperfections such as blackheads (a really big issue I have with my skin). Of course their are many more benefits than smoothing out imperfections and help with that glow we all crave. They have listed the full set of results on the official site:

"ACNECIDIC-6™ - 4.4% AHA & BHA 6-Acid Blend. PH Balanced.Glycolic Acid - Helps Restore Photo Damaged Skin & Improves Skin Texture.Salicylic Acid - Helps De-clog to Minimize Pores & New Skin Rejuvenation.Lactic Acid - Helps Pigmentation, Moisture, Stimulation & Skin Collagen.Mandelic Acid - Helps Fine Lines, Wrinkles, Aging Skin & Skin Elasticity.Pyruvic Acid - Helps the Effects of Scaring & Clearer Skin.Azelaic Acid - Helps fight Follicle Bacteria & Breakouts.TEAOXI™ - Delivers Fresh Natural Eucalyptol, Linalool Oil & Powerful Flavonoids.ACTIVATED-X - Xtreme Absorption Vacuum-Carbon Extracts Sebum Oils, Bacteria & Toxins.K-17 CLAY - Proprietary 17 Step Process to Better Encapsulate Sebum Oils, Bacteria & Toxins.LICORICE ROOT - Helps Regulate & Alleviate Problem Skin.PEPPERMINT PLANT - Helps Control Bacteria & Irritations.Eucalyptus Leaf - Helps Fight Toxic Skin Complications.ALOE VERA, CHAMOMILE, MARIGOLD, CUCUMBER, IVY, HERB - Helps Calm, Soothe & Heal."

So you can see in comparison to YOUTHMUD TINGLEXFOLIATE TREATMENT there are far more benefits in the long term. One thing that has caught my eye is how it helps to restore photo damaged skin perfect for those over 40 who's sun damage over the past decades will start to show up on the skin.

In Short Supermud is:
"The World's most Scientifically Advanced SUPERMUD™ Clearing Treatment. Clinically Developed by GLAMGLOW® Dermatological Chemist to help fight all common skin concerns. "

Personally for that reason alone I think everyone should have this jar on their bathroom shelf. You can get 17 full masks out of it or for spot treatments up to 1000.

All you need to do is apply the mask to a clean face and let it work its magic for up to 20 minuets but depending on how time poor you are 5 minuets is totally perfect. You will feel the mask tighten as it drys and little bumps will appear this is where any imperfections are being sucked out. Once you have let GlamGlow Supermud work its magic you simply wash off with cool/warm(ish) water and pat dry. You will find yourself staring at your mirror in pure amazement at how fab your skin is.

The results last just over a week, however, I think using GlamGlow is the perfect booster for any skin care routine. As it effectively targets blackheads unlike any other product I have used before.

This is in and around the same price range of GlamGlow YOUTHMUD TINGLEXFOLIATE TREATMENT but it is worth every cent and I would highly recommend saving up for it! You can get almost 4 months use out of this bad boy which is pretty good going for a luxury product. The RRP is €49.95 for a 50ml jar. You can pick it up here beautyfeatures or at millies

Now for that all important before and after:

 Before
 During (just before it dries)
Once it has dried (you can see the bumps)

 After!

What do you think? Will you be converting to the GlamGlow ways?
